I am fascinated by how we might move with more grace, strength and balance. Teaching Pilates gives me the opportunity to see people grow, heal and explore healthier patterns of movement and I find that thrilling! I grew up dancing in the UK, moved to the US to study Psychology and after a back injury I began using Pilates to realign my body and rehabilitate. The Pilates method’s effectiveness at relieving pain, strengthening the back and core and facilitating ease of movement amazed me. Since then I’ve been delighting in learning more and sharing it with others. I have become a fully certified STOTT Pilates teacher, attending trainings around the world and benefitting from a vibrant community of researchers and practitioners in mind-body education. I picked up a range of specialties and experience that can help me tailor a class to individuals’ needs. Each day I am inspired by the people I have met as Pilates clients. I love sharing the quest to find the “just right” level of resistance for each person and seeing people progress as they integrate new skills into their daily lives. My trainings include: STOTT PILATES® Matwork & Reformer, Cadillac, Chair, & Barrels, Injuries and Special Populations; ZEN•GA® ; Total Barre®; Specialist Certification for Prenatal and Postnatal Women, Specialist Certification for Osteoporosis.

Pilates Matwork
What kinds of movement are good for our bodies long term and why? How can we learn to move in a way that doesn’t just tire us out but actually realigns the body and encourages better functioning? Do we need to be more flexible? How can we stretch safely and effectively for the foreseeable future? How can we use movement to defend against aging? How do we age gracefully? These are the kinds of questions we will ask ourselves as we flow through an intermediate level Pilates class. We will strengthen our cores and stretch our backs and certainly tone arms and legs. We will focus on breathing and balance and trying not to giggle as we challenge our bodies to move and play in ways that make us think. Finally we will let ourselves rest and focus on how best to recover, revive and thrive.
